Education Academic Our varied curriculum provides students a holistic balance of academic and religious subjects. Besides English, Maths, Science, Computers, Punjabi and Tailoring, etc. students are also exposed to Religious Education, Santhya Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Philosophy, Shabad Vichar, History, Gurmat Sangeet (Harmonium, Tabla, Rabab and Dilruba). Senior students prepare for class X and class XII through National Institute of Open School (NIOS). Graduation Students are encouraged to enroll for Graduation through recognized universities and learn additional technical skills from ITI & Polytechnics. Meritorious students are also enrolled at recognized institutes/colleges for Diploma in Engineering, Paramedical, Computers, Accounting and specialised vocational courses. Technical Training Students who are hands-on savvy are enrolled with the ITI (Industrial Training Institute) for certificate courses. They acquire skills in Machinist, Fitter, Turner, Draughtsman, Motor Mechanic, Electrician, Fabrication, A.C. & Refrigeration, Welding & Fabrication. Students who wish to be a part of the medical industry are enrolled in Paramedical Courses (2 Year Diploma) such as Physiotherapy, X-Ray & ECG Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician etc. Students with a technical aptitude are enrolled in Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical and Civil etc. Music The Kender provides highly specialised training in both classical, vocal and instrumental music. Students learn harmonium, tabla, rabab and dilruba in keeping with the Sikh tradition of “Kalyug mein Kirtan pradhana” The Rabab has been an integral part of Sikh tradition since the time of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Guru Nanak Dev ji used to sing the praise of the Creator accompanied by Bhai Mardana on the Rabab. This forgotten instrument has been revived by the Guru Granth Sahib Vidya Kender where Rabab training is imparted to students under the guidance of an Ustad. Today the Kender has a fully trained Rabab Jatha which is one of its kind in the world. The Rabab Jatha regularly performs Kirtan at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Gurudwara Sis Ganj, Gurudwara Rakab Ganj and Gurudwara Moti Bagh. Stitching Students and ladies are taught cutting and tailoring in the fully equipped tailoring workshop.
