History

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Vidya Kender is an educational institution founded in 1980 by S. Hukum Singh ji (Speaker of the Lok Sabha), Giani Gurdit Singh ji (prominent Sikh Scholar) and S. Partap Singh ji M.A. The foundation stone of the Kender was laid by Panj Pyare: Panth Ratta Baba Harbans Singh Ji Kar Sewa Wale, Panth Rattan Giani Sant Singh Ji Maskeen, Jathedar Joginder Singh Ji Vedanti & other prominent Si intellectuals.

Mission

The Kender is a free residential educational Institution which educates underprivileged students in an atmosphere of faith, love and care. Kender is home to 200 young needy boys from various parts of India viz J&K, Punjab, Haryana, UP, Uttrakhand, MP, Rajasthan, Bihar and Delhi. The entire expenditure of boarding, lodging, food, uniforms, books, stationery, medical, school & university fees including, technical, professional training etc. is borne by the Kender
